On the spiritual path, the beautiful thing about finding your teacher, is that it’s uniquely YOUR path and teacher and you have no need to proselytize others who aren’t called to it. But in finding that place of deep rootedness on your journey it gives your nourishment for courage.
Eight months before a series of miraculous events that led me to meet Ram Dass in Maui, I had no idea who he was. Maybe I had heard the name, but I couldn’t have told you anything about him. But once I was introduced to his work by a dear friend, I “knew,” before we met. What I knew was the he was my teacher for this particular incarnation.
What I didn’t yet know was he was just the “bait,” as he laughingly would say about himself, and that his teacher, the revered Indian Saint, Neem Karoli Baba was the wisdom behind many of his teachings and the direct source of his remarkable presence.
