This is a fun chat with a past colleague I knew and worked with many years ago. We both went our separate ways over the years. She recently saw my first post on LinkedIn about my spiritual awakening and life since and reached out. It turned that she too had an opening of her sense of being as well. We both have been integrating these experiences into new ways of being present and participating in the world.
It’s been a true joy to connect with a variety of people who have had these experiences and to hear about their own adventures, joys, struggles and peace. I’ve found that many have had their own unique versions of understanding this life and consciousness to be more than a game of consumption and pleasure seeking. Something is happening now where this unfolding has become more common place and yet most of us are newly trying to bridge all these pieces of old and new in the most harmonious way.
Having community, a “satsang” or “sangha” shouldn’t be relegated only to people you meditate, read or sing with. You can find spiritual kindred spirits everywhere. There is a saying I once heard that roughly said, “be who you truly are so that others can find you.” This is one example of that. May your lesson be your life and in living in such a way, may the others find you.
“I often tell people that if you truly practice doing nothing - a lot of things will happen. Understanding the essence of nothingness is essential.”
