Awakening isn’t personal. It is the opposite of personality. It’s the depersonalization of the miracle of life itself. You can only see it and be it when you get clean and quiet. But it’s not an achievement. It’s not greater than. It’s realizing that the greater or lesser than was always only a story of the mind. Awakening is happening through your existence, not your personality. It doesn’t belong to you, as such. Awakening is the evolution of the single phenomena of consciousness, of which your limited perspective, feelings and knowledge is a part. We should care about awakening because it is happening through all of us as all of us. The flower doesn’t decide to bloom, nor does the caterpillar choose to fly as a butterfly. They don’t earn those miracles, they are them. So too are we all awakening. We can notice it more with practices like sadhana, but collectively it’s happening as us with or without our stories of how we are or aren’t participating. When you realize this, life can be freeing and fun and creative - everything is perfect. When you try to deny this, you go to survival and - everything is imperfect. It’s only one or the other because there is only one. But the choice of living as part of the a universe or perfection or imperfection is yours.
“Everything is perfect or imperfect. There is only one state and the choice of how your experience life is yours.”
